UPDATE!
We have great news! Our traditional ceremony at The Wall is back ON for Veterans Day 2025. Please see the following statement that was just released:
UPDATED VVMF STATEMENT - 10/31/25
The Vietnam Veterans Memorial Fund WILL host the annual Veterans Day Observance at The Wall in Washington, D.C., on November 11th. Having just received a permit from the National Park Service, the 1:00 p.m. event WILL take place in front of the Memorial, with scheduled speakers, chairs, stage, and podium. The National Park Service, which normally co-hosts the annual observance, will not be able to participate if the current federal government shutdown is still in effect.
“We are pleased we will be able to honor the service and sacrifice of all veterans in front of the Memorial. While we understand the shutdown is part of our democratic political process, VVMF’s focus remains our Vietnam veterans,” said Jim Knotts, VVMF’s President and CEO. “The ceremony still may look a bit different, but we welcome everyone to join us at The Wall on Veterans Day. We’ll be there!”
So - our traditional wreath laying is back on!
If you have not yet confirmed that you will still be laying a wreath at our ceremony, please respond to this email and confirm your wreath laying.
We thank you for your patience and your support as we worked through these special circumstances. We look forward to seeing you all at the Memorial on November 11th!
